More transparency in times of COVID-19: traigo provides an overview of plant capacities in Europe

- Reporting of restrictions in supplier and workshop operations due to actions to combat COVID-19

- No registration necessary: free offer is open to all interested

With a new offer on the digital platform traigo, VTG AG provides an overview of the current plant capacities in Europe and shows where there are restrictions due to actions to combat COVID-19. What is the overall situation? Where are things getting tight, where is everything running as usual? Interested parties can find out about the current status free of charge and without registering at traigo.com/covid-19-update. "Particularly in the current situation, rail freight transport plays a decisive role in securing transport flows, and the repair and maintenance plants throughout Europe are an elementary component of the rail system - nothing works without them," says Sven Wellbrock, Chief Operating Officer Europe and Chief Safety Officer of VTG AG. "For this reason, we would like to give all players in the sector an overview of the plant capacities."

Transparency for trouble-free rail freight traffic

In addition to a map display and a status display based on the traffic light principle, there is a brief summary of the current situation for each country in which restrictions apply. The site, which is available in German and English, also provides detailed information on the individual plants. Should users require further information, they can contact the traigo team via a feedback form. In this way, the traigo team will try to continually expand the offer and respond to user needs in the best possible way. For additional information, the page refers to an offer from VPI European Rail Service GmbH (VERS): VERS is currently working on a solution where the plants themselves can report their capacities. "Our aim is to share the information we have with the sector. Because a situation such as the one we are currently in can only be mastered by joining forces," says Sven Wellbrock. "We see the new overview on traigo as a useful addition to existing information channels and are pleased to receive feedback from users".

traigo - digital platform for sustainable rail freight transport

Since the beginning of 2020, traigo has bundled the digital activities of VTG Aktiengesellschaft. The aim behind this is to offer digital applications and products for smart rail freight transport. For customers, the platform serves as a central interface for their digital fleet management. For example, they can access contract data at any time and call up real-time information on the wagons they have hired. Completely new solutions are also available via traigo - for example the prediction of arrival times for rail transport. In order to drive the digitisation of rail forward, traigo is open to collaboration with the entire industry.
