Klaus Wessing joined the management team at VTG AG’s Tanktainer Business Unit effective April 1, 2021, and reports to Oksana Janssen, Chief Operating Officer Eurasia & Far East. In his new position, Wessing, a forwarding agent by trade, will oversee VTG Tanktainer’s tank container leasing, transport and logistics services, managing the unit’s activities in tandem with Managing Director Andreas Petersson-Lehmann. “I’m glad that VTG was able to sign up Klaus Wessing, a proven manager with many years’ operational experience,” Oksana Janssen says. “His in-depth knowledge of the industry and the market will help lead VTG Tanktainer into its next phase of growth and development.”
More than 20 years experience in forwarding have given Klaus Wessing a wealth of valuable expertise in this industry. He has served in management positions at several corporations and joint ventures, most recently as Head of Logistics at HELM AG, where he oversaw a team of more than 40 people. Wessing had earlier been employed as Director Operations and HSSEQ at Alfred Talke GmbH & Co. KG, shouldering management responsibility for business development, key accounts and all aspects of operational business. Between 2009 and 2011, Klaus Wessing served as Treasurer on the Board of the European Chemical Transport Association (ECTA) in Brussels.
