With effect from January 1, 2024, Kerstin Kamphaus will fill the newly created role of Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO) at VTG GmbH. People and culture are of central importance to VTG’s growth strategy. Creating this new function and bundling all strategic and operational human resources (HR) matters across Europe will thus provide the necessary focus.
Kerstin Kamphaus joins VTG from the Maersk Group, where she initially served as CPCO for the Hamburg Süd company before assuming responsibility for the group’s strategic recruitment issues. Before moving to Maersk, she filled a variety of general HR leader positions – including a role in charge of enterprise-wide leadership development – at the Vattenfall Group from 2003 through 2020. With over 20 years’ experience in HR management to her name, the economics graduate has an impressive track record in successful strategic transformation and development processes.
“Topics such as employer branding and professional recruitment, but above all highly qualified staff and dedicated managers will be crucial to the next steps in VTG’s growth,” Kamphaus says. “We will collaborate to continually craft a modern and healthy work environment where people can enjoy their work and achieve success. I am very much looking forward to getting started at VTG, especially to working closely with the people there and becoming part of a ‘green’ company.”
“VTG is the number one on Europe’s private wagon leasing market, thanks especially to the passion and skills of our fantastic team of now more than 2,200 people. We are now embarking on the next phase of our exciting growth journey, and I am delighted to welcome Kerstin Kamphaus on board at VTG,” says Alberto Nobis, CEO of VTG GmbH. “Kerstin combines a wealth of international and cross-industry experience in HR and organizational development with a very successful track record. So I am convinced that she will play a large part in guiding VTG to a successful future.”
